I just bought HTC TouchFLo at Simlim Square Singapore. The salesman change my mind because actually i want to buy Dopod D810 that is 300 dollar more expensive than HTC Touch. The price is SGD 848 (around 1900) no contract include 2gb SD card and CE Star application. But because i work here.i have to pay 5% GST.damn.This phone is very good and stylish. People always looking at me when i play my phone at MRT station. What i like: - -Style -User friendly interface -SmartDialling -TouchFlo was really great What i don't like:- -No 3G -No GPS -Processor only 201 MHz This post has been edited by koisempoi: Jul 2 2007, 02:19 PM. The 1 GB card and screen protector comes in the box. Is not an offer from the retailer.
So far the 3rd party accessories are not in the market yet. Still have to wait. And the screen protector provided suckz like hell.
The side, on the upper right never stick at all. Hehe.I think for for me wont be so soon ler.cause, been playing the games that I installed like Atomic Cannon (some sort of WORM), some shooting game, and looking for other s/w & themes for it. The feeling just like few mths ago when I got my new rig with vista. Oh ya, when I create a new sms, I need to specify the recipient. So, when I click on 'add recipient, the same name appear twice (on the list that I need to choose). I think is because 1 is from my SIM card and the other 1 is from the touch. storage.
How do I control it not to show those from SIM/storage? Sry, I'm a noob about it. Bought HTC touch at PDA expert RM2020.
Just more convenient for me going midvalley therefore i choose there. What i like: 1. No doubt, the design n size is excellent, my main purpose of buying the phone. Secondly comes to perfomance, a bit laggy once a while but acceptable for normal usage, sms/call/calendar 3. MP3 ringtone not as loud as expected, depends on what song it is and definately much better quality (crisp/clear) than my previous o2 Atom exec which sounds terrible for mp3 ringtone. TouchFlo kinda fun but not really dependant on that function. Weather forecast from accuweather.com, another value add which previously doesnt come with my atom exec (HTC touch doesnt have KL, Malaysia in the list by default, you will need to modify the xml file in windows folder to show KL weather) 6.
Lastly, cant stop looking at my phone now. What i don like: 1. Sometimes laggy when multiple applications running, due to slower processor.
GUI doesnt come with any battery meter in percentage, need 3rd party application like Resco/spb to do so. This post has been edited by KiliKulu: Jul 11 2007, 03:51 PM. Guys, Need your advice here.
I have 2 option to buy HTC Touch. One of my friend will be coming from Taiwan next week. I can tumpang him buy HTC Touch for me for RM1450 full box set including screen protector and 1G micro SD.
I also have friend whom is going to Singapore and can get the same set for RM1650. Do you think it is advisable for me to buy from Taiwan as it is cheaper. How many languages does the Manual Book comes with? I cant read chinese.
Also, the charger, is it 3 pin or 2 pin blade (Is it interchangeble just like HP6828) and is it variable voltages? It is really tempting me as the price is RM500 cheaper. Please advice, Thanks. Guys, Need your advice here. I have 2 option to buy HTC Touch.

I am have recently acquired a HTC touch, and was previously using O2 Mini. One thing that i find problematic is that when i want to type an SMS, i have to use that tiny keyboard with my stylus which is really hard to do and slow. In the O2 mini there is a phonepad. Much easier and it comes with a T9 also. Where can i get the plugin for this phonepad for my HTC touch (windows mobile 6.0)?
I know there are those for WM5. How about for 6.0? Yes i know its in the box.
But do you realize that once you put it on the sensitivity of the screen becomes so bad. I was hoping to get a martin fields one. And i put the protector by myself, i kinda scren it up. Now it looks horrible (the screen). Added on July 23, 2007, 11:49 amI am have recently acquired a HTC touch, and was previously using O2 Mini. Please advice, Thanks. Should be okay if the seal is broken, but of course you have to do some research yourself to see which parts must come in the package like cable, manual, CDs, stylus, etc. Also, as long as you getting from a reputable PDA shop such as Fresh Gear, you should have nothing to worry about. PC Fair in KL is this friday to sunday. Might have some deals there, so hold your horses before buying a Touch before then. But IMHO, i don't think there'll be any offer since the Touch is still very new in the market. It seems that my potential buyer had doubt on me huh.
(thats normal i think, and he should be. ) anyway, stinky is VERY VERY careful when he wanna buy something. (saw all his posted reply in forum liao. Sorry stinky, cos i need to study my buyer also to see whether genuine or not. ) anyway, here's the story of the touch that im selling in garage sale.
I paid some booking fees with a shop in low yat on 27th july just to secure a promotion price for HTC Touch and Dopod C500 (which im using now). And the Touch suppose to give it to my gf as a surprise gift but ended up she dun like it at all when i tell her that night. So i just post it out to sell it off the next day before the stock came on 29th july (sunday). Why wanna sell it off so fast? Cos i got C500 already and i dun like pda phone without keypad. Also, I paid it with my credit card with 12 mths installment plan. So of cos i wan to take the cash back (and i can have some money to 'roll' mahh.
BTW, why i wanna explain all this sh. t? Cos i dun like being doubt like some con man trying to con ppl money when im really really sincere to sell my things. And all of u here who saw this post can be witness for me cos im going to give a personal 7 days MONEY BACK guarantee IF THE PHONE REALLY GOT PROBLEM and even though its under warranty. We can COD at my office and i will give my name card also.
If im the con man who con money. Please blacklist me in this forum. (and pls report police also ) Anyway, the item is still available. Please contact me if Any of u interested in the phone and really trust me. (oh ya, the bluetooth really throw out to attract buyer one which i dun have one, just to test response mah. Hehe) Thanks for listening to my story.

I bought A HTC Touch and when i powerup my phone, at the SMART MOBILITY page, there is a water mark at the bottom of the wording 'SMART MOBILITY' as big as 2x 20cent coin. You need to tilt it to an angle to view I took another of my friends TOUCH and there were the exact water mark. We both bought at different shop.
However, other screens are not visible. I am just worried it will lead to other problem like LCD leaking. Please advice. Also, the screen protector causes alot of aitbubble at the edge. It cannot stick properly. Anyone same issue. HTC Kaiser Home Plugin on HTC Touch 1.

Long story.but, all of my games/softwares that previously installed properly by the shop that I bought the Touch.is now all gone. And because I so use to the s/w that they installed (such as shortcut to power/theme today/memory cleaner/etc.), now I kind of.lost because I forget the name of those s/w that they installed for me. So, I think 1 of the way is to ask you all (Touch owner) what are the s/w that you might wanna share with me.that you think is good to have. The battery life is fantastic.
I used to have an O2 Atom which battery life couldn't even last more than a day. Over the night, it would loose between 10-15% of battery. However, with the HTC Touch, i found that there is almost ZERO battery loss over the night (I'm not sure how they did it. But it's true).
Overall, I think it's a great PDA. The lack of 3G is not that big of a disadvantage for me since I'm not really into this 3G thingy unless you do lot sof surfing or use the PDA as a mobile internet access device (you better get some sort of unlimited data package).
My first PDA phone and I just love the Touch of HTC Love the sleek and sexy design plus the intuitive GUI where u can get what you want within 1-2 touches. Not to mention free access to email, feeds, internet via the free WiFi at the office. Just got 2 questions if any of you can help me with: 1. I bought my Touch overseas and it doesn't come with Chinese/Japanese characters set support.
Is there something like that for the Malaysian version? I just need to view Chinese/Japanese pages on Internet Explorer, no writing.
My touch seems to run out of memory after a few application and a few days. Need to keep reset or clear memory. Any ideas to shutdown the programs totaly and free up memory? I already install all my applications on the SD card.

I had a dopod 900 which has a 500mhz and a htc touch with a 201mhz speed. If your not a hardcore pda user with countless multi tasking and running applications, you dont need to worry about the processor speed.
Your not buying a laptop. As for the audio transmission, the speakers seems to be better than expected, i can compare it with my n73 ME and its almost the same.
For the audio output jack, just get a converter and use your own earphones or headphones. And besides anything ALL-IN-ONE can never be good at it all. Hey guys, i am planning to get a pda, so just a few quick question. Firstly as i have heard you guys discuss about the audio problem, i am just wondering when people is calling to this htc touch phone, is the ringging loud enough?
I mean i always miss call because of the volume, so i would like to have a phone that can ring out loud. 2ndly, i have tried playing with a real htc touch but i just feel like its hard to press the buttons on the touch screen for some reason. Do you guys ( people that own this baby) have any problems with this? And Lastly about the speed, well personally i dont think i will be a heavy user, just mainly for calling and receiving calls, sms, and organize some simple stuff on words or excel. So i would like to know if there will be any serious trouble doing so due to the 201mhz processor? I am not too particular about the camera. So no worries about the camera.
Thanks in advance! I found this Flash SMS software which was specially made for HTC TyTN aka 838p, hope you can try it on Touch You might want to try it FlashSMS is an easy-to-use software to send flash SMS messages right from your windows mobile powered smartphone (WM5 or better required). Flash SMS messages are equal to normal SMS messages except that they appear directly on the mobile display without selecting the message after receiving it.
Sometimes Flash SMS messages are displayed in a fancy way f.ex. Automatically scrolling on the mobile screen or similar effects. Target mobile phone numbers can be directly taken from the Pocket-Outlook addressbook. Note: the target phone number must be entered in international format (see screenshot). The Software has been tested on a HTC TyTN smartphone. There is no guarantee for any functionality. The author takes no responsibilty for any damage or cost caused by the usage of this software.
In other word, when you request for balance via.126#, etc, you get a flash SMS, this is what it does, please let me know if it works.
In May 2014, a U.S. Special Operations team in a Black Hawk helicopter landed in the hills of Afghanistan. Waiting for them were more than a dozen Taliban fighters and a tall American, who looked pale and out of sorts: Bowe Bergdahl. Bergdahl, a U.S.
Soldier, had been a prisoner of the Taliban for nearly five years, and now he was going home. President Obama announced Bergdahl’s return in the Rose Garden, with the soldier's parents at his side. Bergdahl's hometown of Hailey, Idaho, planned a big celebration to welcome him back. But then, within days—within hours of his rescue, in fact—public reaction to his return flipped. People started saying Bergdahl shouldn’t be celebrated.
Some of the soldiers from his unit called him a deserter, a traitor. They said he had deliberately walked off their small outpost in eastern Afghanistan and into hostile territory. Hailey canceled its celebration. The army launched an investigation. Finally, in March, the military charged Bergdahl with two crimes, one of which carries the possibility of a life sentence.
Through all of this, Bergdahl has been quiet. He hasn’t spoken to the press or done any interviews on TV.
He’s been like a ghost at the center of a raucous fight. Now, in Season Two, we get to hear what he has to say. For this season, Sarah Koenig teams up with filmmaker to find out why one idiosyncratic guy decided to walk away, into Afghanistan, and how the consequences of that decision have spun out wider and wider. It’s a story that has played out in unexpected ways from the start. And it’s a story that’s still going on.
Season Two aired in the winter of 2015-6 and is now complete. Listen again from the beginning.
Examined the psycho- logical effect of games on pain suf ferers. Six genres of games—action, puzzle, arcade, fighting, sport, and boxing—were used in the study, where participants played games of each type for five minutes for prac- tice, then a longer session for 10 minutes. Rauden- bush concluded that playing games increased players’ pulses, as well as their tolerance for pain. Some of us might have read that news bi t and rub- bished it as yet another piece of quirky research—by, possibly, a gaming evangelist—or even as an industry- sponsored study determined to project the positive effects of gaming.
So much has been written about the ill-effects—the negative psychological and physiolog- ical impact of games — on kids, that we look with sus- picion upon any positive news on this front. But it turns out that a piece of news from Reuters corroborates Dr Raudenbush’s study. It highlights the use of video games to help sick children manage pain and anxiety during hospital stays. Nine-year-old Ethan Myers was declared brain dead as a result of a car acci- dent in 2002. Doctors had said at the time that Ethan would never again eat on his own, walk or talk. Now, due to neuro-feedback training on the Cyber- Learning Technology LLC system, often used to play car racing video games, Myers has caught up with his peers in school, and can even read out a speech to a large group of students. He has also re-learnt to walk, and his memory now allows him to remember peoples’ names.
More importantly, Myers can now also fully open his right hand, which paralysis had curled closed. “In the last year, we’ve seen the Ethan we knew before the acci- dent,” says Howard Myers, the teenager’s happy father. CyberLearning’s SMART BrainGames system, which was used by Myers, targets symptoms arising from brain injuries, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and learning disabilities. Neuro-feedback treatment has been around for decades, but its use of video games is a new develop- ment that tries to capitalise on the younger genera- tion’s fascination with animation and electronics to sweeten often frightening, lengthy and tedious med- ical treatments. Some schools in the US are even using video games to combat obesity and have made it part of their curriculum. All this research, I’m sure, has brought cheer to gaming enthusiasts—and also the gaming industry.
Young gamers will now cite this research to their par- ents and justify their never-ending gaming sessions and the endless hours spent in front of the computer or gaming consoles. Sceptics, however, still question the efficacy and cost rationale behind this treatment. Despite the demonstrated benefits of neuro-feedback, paediatrics demand better-designed studies to help par- ents of children with ADHD make informed decisions. It all does seem intuitive, though. Laughter is the best medicine because it’s a stress buster—it’s a momen- tary burst of release, so to speak.
The gaming experi- ence is similar: it’s a brief period of escapism, of total release from the shackles of t he world; it’s “re-creation” in the true sense. And that is, naturally, good for you. Busy In fotech.

Xcpuscalar 2 85 Serial Season 3

After a bombshell debut that captured the attention of millions, the popular Serial podcast turned to a new topic for its second season:, who famously walked off an outpost in Afghanistan and spent five years in Taliban custody. Over the course of the season, which stretched from December 2015 to March 2016, Serial took a closer look into Bergdahl’s motivations, and how the case became so polarizing in the United States. Today, Bergdahl’s case. He’ll be busted down to the rank of private, receive a dishonorable discharge, and have to pay $1,000 for the next ten months, but he won’t spend any time in prison. Serial now plans to release a coda to its second season in light of the new developments and give closure to its listeners. The update also highlights a structural problem with the highly popular podcast: Each season jumps into an ongoing story with detailed reporting, but ends before the narrative reaches a conclusion.
We’re working on a coda to season two.— Serial (@serial) In 2014, Serial’s first season followed the story of Adnan Syed, who was accused of murdering his high school ex-girlfriend in 1999. The podcast took a deep dive into the murder case, reexamining old evidence and discovering some issues and inconsistencies related to the conviction. While the podcast attracted millions of listeners, its finale underwhelmed., just an admission that there were issues with the investigation and resulting conviction. The show’s second season came to rest in a similar place, posing interesting questions but ultimately leaving the story unresolved. Although Serial has offered occasional updates on the first and second seasons, these brief news flashes pale in comparison to the work that was put into the show’s original string of episodes.
Xcpuscalar 2 85 Serial Season 2
Meanwhile, there have been numerous developments in Bergdahl’s case that the program has barely touched, outside of the occasional retweet on Twitter. In both cases, Serial jumped into the midst of a story that was still unfolding, ultimately doing a disservice to those stories by presenting an incomplete narrative. This American Life’s more recent project, S-Town, with a rich and complicated story that came to a conclusion before release, and thus offered a more complete narrative. Granted, Bergdahl’s case is a story that has taken years to unfold, and the team has shifted to their third season, which. But Serial could still devote more resources to following their stories to their final conclusion, especially when their audience has already invested so much time in them. Ideally, this coda will help finish out the narrative for listeners who might not have kept up, looking back on the events that have transpired since the season ended in a year and a half ago. However, it will likely feel like a belated update, an admission that the show's producers haven't kept up with a story that has finally come to an end.
